The Chicago Blackhawks have had a pretty busy offseason.Unfortunately it's not an offseason that everybody is happy with. One of the big moves this offseason was shipping forward Brandon Saad to the Colorado Avalanche. Saad was sent to Colorado along with defenseman Dennis Gilbert for defensemen Nikita Zadarov and Anton Lindholm. Across the league not many people liked the trade for Chicago. Here's some quotes from The Athletic:Western Conference scout: «The Colorado trade? Oof. Good for Colorado. That was a hell of a trade for me getting Saad and Gilbert. Because I think Gilbert is going to play. Gilbert, I think is Zadorov in a younger body. He's going to be more of a physical presence in my opinion. I think that's going to be a good spot for him.»Western Conference executive: «I think it was a money thing with the trade. I think it was purely a money thing and the Blackhawks had someone who wanted him now as opposed to down the road and waiting for the trade deadline.»Team source: «Had to move Saad money (they don't tell me exactly why). Tried to get a prospect or two and there was not even one legit offer for him. Saad is overpaid. Cap or real dollars. I don't mind the trade, but I was told we were getting a younger and better (prospect) than Lindholm.»Eastern Conference scout: «In this market, you would have thought they would have gotten more for Saad. Colorado will be a good fit for him because he doesn't have to be the guy. I've always thought of him as a player who plays hockey but doesn't love to play hockey.»
