Elliotte Friedman drops a bomb regarding a player placed on waivers by the New York Rangers

The New York Rangers organization has officially placed a veteran forward, and a Stanley Cup Champion on waivers, that'll be suitable for many teams, according to Elliotte Friedman.

This move marks the end of Barclay Goodrow's career in the big apple, via a waiver claim or possible trade within the next 24 hours of the waiver window.

A bit more:
Clearly, NYR doing this solely for cap reasons, seeing if there is another team interested. Goodrow 6 goals in 16 playoff games, that's his time of year

Goodrow has three seasons left with a remaining cap hit of $3.642M, and a 15-team no-trade list.

At 31 years of age, Goodrow has spent his career in the NHL across various teams such as the SAN Jose Sharks, Tampa Bay Lightning and most recently the New York Rangers with a clutch playoff performance.

Teams in search for veteran leadership, such as the Chicago Blackhawks, will surely be battling to put a claim in as he will not last long on the NHL's waiver wire.
