One of the 5 disgraced members of 2018 World Junior Team Canada team finds a new organization

A former NHL first round pick by the New Jersey Devils, as well as a member of the 2018 Team Canada World Juniors team has found a new home.

26 year old Michael McLeod was selected 12th overall by the Devils in 2016 and will now take his 'talents' to Russia, playing in the KHL with Barys Astana.

The team revealed they are happy to have McLeod on board for the 2024-25 season, and McLeod is expected to receive the biggest role in his entire career-being a teams first line center.

(Following quote is translated from Russian)

"We are happy to fill the deficit position with a player of such level. MacLeod has played quite successfully for the New Jersey Devils over the last four seasons, bringing benefits on both sides of the ice, and he was among the NHL leaders in faceoffs won. Anticipating questions about the proceedings with his participation in Canada, we would like to say that Michael did not admit guilt and will defend his interests in court. In the future, we would like to refrain from commenting. Now, first of all, we consider MacLeod as the first center, who is capable of becoming not only the leader of Barys, but also one of the most recognizable players in the entire KHL." Bolyakin said.

McLeod is one of five to have allegedly partaken in an act in 2018 with Team Canada in London Ontario.

The KHL club stated he has not admitted any guilt and will support himself in court.
