Troubling moment at the World Junior Championships on Friday Between Team Canada and Team Latvia when Matthew Schaefer suffers distraught injury
A scary moment occurred when projected top pick of the 2025 NHL entry draft, Matthew Schaefer, when barreling into the boards going top speed.
Schaefer left the game, and Team Canada revealed that he will not return.
Raising serious concerns amongst Canadian fans of hockey, analysts are now considering who will replace the 17-year old defenseman stud.
Schaefer was favoring his shoulder in severe pain, clearly taking his entire 183 lbs into the net at full speed.
This is a huge turning point for the tournament as Team Canada and USA are heavy favorites, the odds may not be lead into Team USA's chances at winning the entire tournament.
Schaefer is a highly touted prospect for the upcoming NHL draft, currently playing with the Erie Otters in the OHL.
