The new head coach of the Seattle Kraken, Dany Bylsma told NHL Media today that he is considering adding Jessica Campbell will be considered for the team's, assistant coaching staff.

NHL Insider Chris Johnston Reporting:

"New #SeaKraken head coach Dan Bylsma tells reporters in Seattle that Jessica Campbell will be considered for a job on his coaching staff.

There's never been a full-time female assistant coach in the NHL before."

Bylsma was promoted from Coachella Valley's head coach in the AHL to the big club this morning. He wasn't shy about adding his assistant coach in the AHL, Jessica Campbell to the coaching staff either.

In the pre-season play in October, Byslma ran the bench, with Kori Cheverie, the first woman, to work behind the bench in the NHL. She worked for the Pittsburgh Penguins, prior and now coaches PWHL Montreal.

Both Byslma and Campbell have unfinished business in the AHL to attend to, as the Coachella Valley Firebirds remain in the Calder Cup playoffs, and will take on the Milwaukee Admirals in the Western Conference Finals, with the first game on Wednesday.

Campbell could break another glass barrier in the NHL, securing a full-time assistant coach role with the Kraken.
