The Chicago Blackhawks are inching closer to a playoff spot and currently sit just one point behind the Minnesota Wild for the second Wild Card spot. Chicago's amazing run has been put together as they still wait the return of their starting goalie Corey Crawford. Crawford said last week that he felt 100% and ready to play however has yet to be taken off injured reserve. «I meant I was healthy and 100 percent,» Crawford clarified after practice Tuesday. «It doesn't take long to do the physical test and whatever we have to do at the computer. That doesn't take long, so I wasn't really thinking about that stuff.»
Hawks' head coach Jeremy Colliton continues to be sworn to secrecy when it comes to Crawford and would only confirm that the goalie wouldn't join the team in Detroit. As for anything else, he kept it really quiet repeating that Crawford hasn't been cleared to play. Whatever the case is, Crawford is inching to jump back into the swing of things. «Today felt good,» he said. «When you first come back it's kind of like you're stopping pucks on accident almost. The game's so fast it's hard to be on right away. And then maybe you go back to sucking for a little bit and then the timing comes back.»
