Report: Blackhawks left with tough decision regarding forward
Coach Luke Richardson and Kyle Davidson are good at finding affordable contracts and bringing in players who make a big impact, like Colin Blackwell.
Last night, the Blackhawks bounced back with a solid 7-4 win over the Arizona Coyotes at the United Center.
Blackwell stole the show with his first career hat trick against the Yotes, showing off his talent on the ice. He wasn't alone in the spotlight though, as many other Blackhawks had multi-point games, including Jones, Bedard, and Donato.
Considered a depth player in the league, Blackwell has stepped up under Richardson's coaching and with his own competitive spirit.
While Blackwell's case for staying with the team is strong, there's talk about whether Kyle Davidson might trade him during the off-season.
Throughout his career, Blackwell has been a depth player for various teams, but it seems he's found a home in Chicago.
With Blackwell saying he wants to stay in Chicago, it might be smart to reward his efforts.
Currently carrying a $1.2 million cap hit, Blackwell's contract expires at the end of the season. Since returning from injury, he's scored eight goals and three assists, totaling 11 points in the 2023-2024 NHL season.
