According to reports from Anthony DiMarco from The Fourth Period, Necas' next contract looks like a 6 to 8-year term, with an AAV of $7-7.5 Million.
«There is a lot of interest around the NHL in Martin Necas, but the Canes need to have a conversation with him and his agent first. Many clubs are curious. This could be an interesting scenario this summer. -David Pagnotta
«We'll discuss this more on TFP later today, but the general consensus from league sources is that Martin Necas will be in line for a 6-8 year contract at an annual salary of $7-7.5 million .»
-Anthony DiMarco
Necas could absolutely fit into the Blackhawks salary cap, given there is a surplus of $33 Million dollars, so it will be interesting to see where Necas would end up.
With Jake Guentzel and Seth Jarvis being prioritized to be re-signed, it looks as if Necas' time in Carolina is over.
