Connor Bedard was injured on January 5th in a game against the New Jersey Devils. He took a shoulder to the chin from Brendan Smith, which fractured his jaw.
He then got on the team plane and flew back to Chicago, where he received surgery and was ruled out for 6-8 weeks. He hasn't been on a road trip since.
Well, not even a week after having surgery, he was seen back out on the ice during practice in a non-contact jersey (the zamboni had to kick him off the ice again).
Despite going back out, he has restrictions. No slap shots or really anything that involves clenching of your jaw. He is restricted when it comes to his workouts, as well. No lifting heavy, however, he's slowly getting back on the bike.
Nick Foligno joked and said that he failed his job miserably. His job; keep an eye on Connor Bedard and try' to keep him off the ice.
Even though he is skating and taking a couple shots in the Fifth Third Arena, his timeline for the fractured jaw has not changed and he is still limited.
