The Blackhawks have been starting Petr Mrazek a lot recently. And there's a reason for that. Young goaltender Arvid Soderblom is not ready to be a full-time backup.
However, Luke Richardson announced that Soderblom will start tomorrow night against the Los Angeles Kings. It will be no easy feat, as the Kings are a playoff contender.
«Soderblom will start for the Blackhawks against the Kings tomorrow.
Slaggert will take Reese Johnson's spot in the lineup; Reese's concussion indeed came from that 3rd period line brawl Tuesday.» The reason Arvid isn't starting very many games is because he's working with goalie coach Jimmy Waite. Soderblom has actually improved a bit working with Waite, and one of the reasons Mrazek is staying is because of Waite as well.
Hopefully, all the work put in pays off tomorrow night.
