The Chicago Blackhawks quickly activatedArtyom Levshunov as soon as he was healthy. He was sent down to the AHL to begin his development in the minor leagues.

Levshunov would make an impact quickly in Rockford, as he played his first game as an IceHog on Sunday.

He would quickly notch his first point in the AHL, with an assist!

The 2nd overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft has been showing audiences in Rockford what's to come in Chicago he finally dons the Blackhawk jersey. He looks to be as advertised.

Here you can see with these last two plays how strong of a two-way defenseman Levshunov is.

The Blackhawks have a strong prospect pool in Rockford, and the addition of Artyom Levshunov just strengthens the bunch, with Kevin Korchisnki, Artyom Levshunov, Isaak Phillips, and Ethan Del Mastro are just some prospects we can name-drop as potential NHLers in the future.

Levshunov's defensive play has led to the IceHogs sound defeat of the Manitoba Moose, with a 5-3 score.

The prospect did his best to create situations that would lead to breakouts for the Hogs.

Levshunov getting his first pro point in his first pro game is good for his growth as a player. He won't worry about getting on the score sheet for the first time.

That's done. While in Rockford, his only concern is playing right to help his team win. That means showing up in all three zones. The young defenseman is off to a good start.

If anything, this is just another testament to the drafting abilities of GM Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks.
