The Chicago Blackhawks combined effort last night saw the team overcome the odds to defeat the Montreal Canadiens.
The game was a physical bout early on, as tempers flared early in the 1st period when both teams would tally a goal.
Tyler Bertuzzi scored the first goal with an assist by Connor Bedard, and the Habs Cole Caulfield would even the odds soon after.
But later in the match, the Blackhawks would take the lead in the 2nd period with a goal by Nick Foligno, followed by a goal by veteran Pat Maroon.
Foligno would solidify the victory with his 2nd goal of the night in the 3rd period.
During the interview, Bedard made a statement on the Blackhawks' solid victory, in which he mentioned momentum. Energy teams need to take advantage of in hockey games.
The Hawks would utilize it, and put the knife in the hopes of the Habs last night, winning 4-2.
The Blackhawks showed they weren't ready to give up in the 3rd even while they held the advantage ahead of the Habs three to two, thanks to Pat Maroon's goal early in the third period.
Now, if they can put together a win tomorrow against the New York Rangers, who are 7th in the Metropolitan Division, Bedard's statement can ring true.
The team needs to utilize the positivity from one victory and turn into two, and maybe even three.
They could go on a winning streak! Bedsy watch this:
The Hawks are 8th in the Central Division, with a 13-24-2 record, and have to pick up the pieces in order to improve as a whole.
The season isn't over yet.
