Bedard did not mince words as he felt both teams were rather sloppy in their own ends and this game was the first game for many of these players over the last four months. This game had some hype to it as it meant the return of former Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane to the United centre after he chose to sign with the Detroit Red Wings for another two seasons.
Their last contest against the Red Wings was a great introduction of the old and the new as both Bedard and Kane clashed several times gave the fans a great show.
Bedard managed to receive one assist on Teuvo Teravainen's goal and had a few hits during the game.
The Blackhawks have been evaluating their team after general manager Kyle Davidson went on a spending spree this summer acquiring several new players and augmenting all aspects of his hockey club. Several free agents were added including Tyler Bertuzzi, Teuvo Teravainen, TJ Brodie Alec Martinez and Laurent Brossoit in goal.
Davidson has expressed that his team needs to move the needle and begin the climb out of the basement as the team has had several years with first overall picks or at least in the top three. The Blackhawks cupboards are now full and would like to see some of their first players now make the team.
With these additions end the re introduction of Taylor Hall after his injury last season, will certainly give Connor Bedard more weapons to work with and give the Blackhawks a better chance to win more hockey games.
Blackhawks fans will need to wait and see how the team shapes up as they will take on the Red Wings on September 27th as both teams conclude their home and home series.
