When you buy a ticket to an NHL game, the last thing you should worry about is being able to see the whole ice.

But fans of the new Utah Hockey Club might have to think about that this season.

As the NHL moves on from the Arizona Coyotes and welcomes Utah's team, some issues with the arena have come up.

One fan at a Utah preseason game found that their seat had a big problem. When the puck went below the half boards at one end, their view was blocked, so they couldn't see one of the nets. The Delta Center, which was mostly used by the NBA's Utah Jazz, wasn't fully ready for hockey games.

The arena had some renovations to fit the new hockey team, like adding dressing rooms and a coach's room.

But that clearly did not help.

Right now, 10,000 seats have a clear view, but another 6,000 seats, mostly in the upper bowl, have a «partial ice view» and are sold at a discount.

Fans sitting in these seats might miss parts of the game, but this should only be a temporary problem.

Utah owner Ryan Smith is aware of the sightline issues and is planning more renovations to fix them.
