The Chicago Blackhawks drafted AJ Spellacy in the third round of this year's NHL draft, but there's something you may not know about him.
Spellacy just played his first full year of hockey just last summer. Spellacy played football, basketball, and baseball along with hockey up until that point.
And he was good at all of them, but especially good at hockey.
Spellacy had 21 goals and 17 asissts, tallying up to 38 points in 67 games with the Winsdor Spitfires of the OHL last year.
That was with only one full year of hockey. Spellacy should come back and have an even better season this time around now that he had coaching and some more hockey under his belt.
At only 18, the American born player is an incredible athlete. Kyle Davidson and his team may have just found a diamond in the rough.
