Chicago Blackhawks slam the door hard on free agent Patrick Kane's face
Patrick Kane returning to Chicago: Kyle Davidson makes it clear
With free agency looming on July 1st, just a few weeks away, one of the most sought after free agents is former Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane.
During the NHL draft combine in Buffalo, an annual event held prior to the NHL entry draft, Kyle Davidson was asked a non-draft question:
'Do you think Patrick Kane will end up as a Blackhawk again?'
Kyle Davidson answered sternly:
"He did have a really good year. I think we're all really happy to see that... [But] we made some really tough decisions on some longstanding players. I don't foresee us going back on that."
As Kane says goodbye to the Detroit Red Wings, it's sad to see him not being welcomed back to where it all started, as a report early on in the summer indicated that Kane would be willing to return to the Blackhawks- but it's up to the organization.
As Kane is in search for a new NHL destination, we truly wish him the best moving forward.
