Kane is still actively playing and helping another team, the Detroit Red Wings, to hopefully begin a playoff push soon.
Although Kane's career is not over yet, it has already been a benchmark for many players in the league.
«I don't care too much what people say. If I can be anything like him, that's pretty great, the career he had. I'm my own person and player and everything, so I'll do what I do and he does what he does.»

One of these players is Connor Bedard, who was asked about Kane in an interview. Bedard did not mind being compared to Kane, but he acknowledged that their careers will likely differ as he is his own person.
Kane's first year with the Chicago Blackhawks saw him play all 82 games, scoring 21 goals and making 51 assists for 72 points. Since then, he has played in a total of 1,205 NHL games, scoring 461 goals and making 800 assists, for a total of 1,261 points in his career.
In contrast, Bedard's career is just getting started, having played 43 NHL games, scoring 17 goals and making 22 assists for 39 points. Bedard is on track to score 63 points this season, but it remains to be seen if he will match Kane's rookie season total. Either way, it's fun to think about.
