The team failed to secure a Stanley Cup, and wasn't able to shake the bad vibes afterward it seems.
They're carrying the loss into the new season, as Connor McDavid, and Leon Draisaitl, the two-tits in the lineup cannot produce early in the NHL season.
Following them is former Stanley Cup winner, Corey Perry who has been subjected to a demotion thanks to Kris Knoblauch.
In the last 3 games, Perry has scored only one point in that time frame.
But is Perry the issue here, or are the Oilers working on gelling, with the new players in the lineup?
He played only 9:50 TOI against his former team, the Blackhawks, and would be one of two Oilers to register a point against Connor Bedard, and the team.
However, against the Calgary Flames in the eternal Battle of Alberta, he played 11 shifts with a 10:28 TOI.
He would bagel the entire night, and remain unproductive.
This might explain why he was so quickly demoted, but what does that say about the rest of the team?
Is the Perry curse confirmed, is it legitimate?
Either way, Perry gets a demotion for his lack of production, and the team is struggling to play a two-way game, as they have given up the last 3 against the Chicago Blackhawks, Calgary Flames, and Winnipeg Jets.
