The article shows that Stan Bowman was not the architect behind the Chicago Blackhawks three cup wins as their core and subsequent role players were already on the roster when former general manager Dale Tallon built the team.
Bowman was involved as he was an assistant general manager for Tallon and likely had it's a on talent and players who would be considered to help round out the team. But in the end the decisions laid with Tallon who never got a chance to see his teams win the Stanley Cup as general manager.
Bowman has now resurfaced in the NHL as the new general manager of the Edmonton Oilers. This hire has certainly been a lightning rod for the organization as many people have weighed in on their thoughts and feelings towards his handling of the Brad Aldrich and Kyle Beach situation.
This hire has been one of the most negative hires in NHL history in terms of public perception and public feedback and will certainly be scrutinized for years to come as many will be watching what will happen with the Oilers.
But it's safe to say but during his tenure with the Blackhawks it was Dale Tallon who built the team that won those cups and not Stan Bowman.
