Some fans have felt that Davidson should share the same fate but according to Todd Welter of BlackHawk up, he feels that Davidson's job is secure for the long haul as he will be judged on how his bevy of young talent that has been drafted will fare as a team in the coming years.
Welter explains that the Blackhawks general manager had upgraded the team over the course of the summer, and it has been more competitive during games than the previous years.
Davidson staked his views on what he expected this season which was improvement and a rise in the standings as he had brought several key free agents onto the team.
The inconsistency and the degrading of Connor Bedard's game and confidence became alarming for Davidson as he felt that Bedard needed another voice along with the rest of the team to try to snap out of there funk and try to win more games this season.
The Blackhawks have many prospects that are in Rockford including up and coming star frank Nazar. Davidson is taking a pragmatic approach in letting his youngsters stay in Rockford and help develop their game and prepare them to move to the NHL when they're ready.
With the likelihood that the Blackhawks will finish in the bottom five again this year and had four draft picks in the 1st two rounds, it's likely Davidson will use some of his draft capital to try to acquire premiere talent as many top stars will be available either through trade or unrestricted free agency.
No matter the case, Davidson is here to stay and there's a strong possibility that the Blackhawks rebuild will take a significant step forward next season.
