Tonight we'll see an original six matchup, as the playoff hopefully Maple Leafs will battle sometimes trade partners, the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Maple Leafs under Craig Berube are 14-7-2, while the Blackhawks are 8-14-2 and 8th in the Central Division this season.
With reports of Jake McCabe suffering an injury due to a puck shot by Nick Perbix hitting his neck Saturday, the defensive will look different tonight.
This is the exact opposite of what coach Craig Berube said about Jake McCabe, as he claimed the defenseman wouldn't miss any time out of the lineup.
David Alter on X posted the projected lineup for tonight:
Slotting in for McCabe will be a 27-year old defenseman, Philippe Myers who'll be suiting up for his 2nd Maple Leafs game this year.
As reported by Luke Fox on X:
Other troubles for the Maple Leafs include Jani Hakanpaa, who hasn't put on a Leafs uniform since November 16th. This is not surprising, as Hakanpaa's health was in question which led to him signing only a one-year deal in Toronto.
The Blackhawks will take on a busted-up Maple Leafs lineup which includes a callup of Marshall Rifai tonight.
This is a team missing Auston Matthews, which should be a win and should be ripe for the taking if the Blackhawks play disciplined hockey.
