Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno was spending time with one of his sons for the Thanksgiving holiday at Fifth Third Arena while his team awaits the arrival of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Many did not know who it was and were left in mystery, as he was in street clothes.
Both Folignos were putting on a display in front of a large crowd at the arena as hockey fans enjoy some down time while taking in their stars spending time with their family.
Foligno has demonstrated this year that he was the right choice to be captain of the Blackhawks as he was the captain of the Blue Jackets several years ago.
He has shown great poise and excellent leadership especially to
Connor Bedard and the other youngsters in the lineup as they continue to learn from their veterans in hopes to find consistency in their game.
Foligno also has shown good demeanor even though the Blackhawks have had a rough season very important through 23 games who are currently dead last in the Western Conference.
This season unfortunately he has not found the net as often as he'd like and for the past three games, he has not scored any points.
The 37-year-old veteran who has been in the league since 2006 when he was drafted by the Ottawa Senators, first round, 28th pick overall has played for the Ottawa Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and the Blackhawks.
Through 23 games played, he scored six goals with three assists for 9 points and is a - 5 with 13 penalty minutes.
For today's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Foligno will get a chance to face off against his old club and hopes to lead the team to victory as the game will be at 3pm eastern at the United Center.
