Matt Martin takes exception to a hit thrown by Jarred Tinordi
In Tuesday's matchup, the Chicago Blackhawks faced off against the New York Islanders, resulting in a 1-2 loss for the Blackhawks.
The game showed different paths of both teams, with the Blackhawks in the midst of a multi-year rebuild while the Islanders strive to secure a playoff spot this year.
Tensions ran high during the game, especially after a bone-crushing hit by Blackhawks defenseman Jared Nordi on the Islanders' Jean Gabriel-Pageau.
Matt Martin of the Islanders also joined the fray, resulting in a heated tilt on the ice.
While the Blackhawks may have fallen short in this matchup, their performance and grit showed their determination to compete, even in the face of adversity of the rebuild.
