the Blackhawks Connor Bedard is the best recent 1st round pick
Sportsnet dropped a new list of 1st overall picks this after, and pondered what kind of numbers Macklin Celebrin will post in his first NHL season.
On the list of course, Connor Bedard had the most impressive stats of all 1st overalls, as he had 61 points in his first NHL season in 2023-2024.
Not only that, but he had 22 goals, a statistic not even Jack Hughes can match.
And while Juraj Slafkovsky did improve his production slightly in 2023-2024, it seems like all this list does is make him look terrible, for a Canadiens draft pick.
As he finally played a full 82-game season in the NHL, scoring 50 points(20 G, 30 A) living up to his draft position arguably.
And while Celebrini may be the new Bedard in 2024-2025, we have a feeling not many rookies will top Bedard's 1st season in the NHL for some time.
With the newest additions to the Blackhawks lineup, will Bedard top 90 points or better this season?
