Wrigley Field Announces Blackhawks vs Blues 2024 Winter Classic Performers

The 2025 Winter Classic will take place at Wrigley Field on New Year's Eve, December 31st, 2024.

The occasion will feature rival clubs, the St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks. This will mark the third winter classic appearance by the Blues, and the first time the two teams meet in an outdoor game.

The game itself will be met with the usual festivities involved, and a series "The Road To The Winter Classic" is already gearing up and giving us highlights from the Hawks.

But what hasn't been mentioned about the Winter Classic is entertainment, who will be entertaining hockey fans in addition to the Blues and Blackhawks?

NHL Public Relations made the announcement today.

Well, two musical acts such as The Smashing Pumpkins, and Chance The Rapper will entertain you depending on your musical taste.

The Smashing Pumpkins are a legendary alternative rock band, who have been around formed in 1988. They've been featured on movie soundtracks( the eternally lambasted Batman and Robin) and hit the rock scene with scintillating music such as "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" and their first album was released in 1991.

Chance The Rapper has a curious past with hockey, as he starred on SNL and made the rounds as a "reporter" covering hockey on the comedic show in 2017.

This will be the Chicago Blackhawks' fifth appearance in the Winter Classic and are currently 0-4 in the series.

The last time the Blackhawks played in the Winter Classic, the Hawks still had Jonathan Toews, and Patrick Kane both on the roster when they met the Boston Bruins in South Bend, IN where the Notre Dame Fightin' Irish play football.

Now it's historic Wrigley Field with a rich history of Cubs play behind them.

Can they manifest a win, with the help of 2016 vibes past?
