"A rebuild can be done without losing, let's win Hawks" Luke Richardson Comments on Hawks Rebuild and More (video)
The Blackhawks have recently hired head coach Luke Richardson as their head coach, replacing former head coach Derek King, and relieving him of his duties. Richardson comes from a family-oriented background, and also coached the Montreal Canadiens during their trip to their conference finals just two seasons ago.
Many Blackhawks fans were in questions as to why Luke Richardson out of all coaches on the market including Barry Trotz, John Tortorella, Bruce Cassidy and more? Well the issue is, not many coaches are eager to coach a rebuilding team, that may take years to get a winning lineup once again, that includes Barry Trotz as reports showed the Blackhawks tried discussing a possibility of bringing Trotz into the organization, but a rebuilding team was not on his recommended destination.
Luke Richardson however, reportedly matched Kyle Davidsons rebuild plans spot on, and they hope to showcase their rebuild plans this season with more structure and heart from the Blackhawks team.
A rebuild can mean many years of losing, just look at the Ottawa Senators who have nearly spent five years in a drought until getting new management and completing their rebuild, which now makes them a contending team for this upcoming season that star players want to play on, such as Alex DeBrincat choosing Ottawa as his next destination.
The Blackhawks, more so Luke Richardson say a rebuild can be done without the losing aspect to it, and that is exactly what Richardson wants to do, despite the Hawks being in a re-tooling session this upcoming season that does not mean players can take it easy, and accept the fate of losses, Richardson spoke in regards to it and it can be seen below.
