The Blackhawks organization has been in question at times this off-season, but why? Well, after news that Alex DeBrincat did not ask for a trade and more-so the Blackhawks forced it on the 24-year old goal scorer, it does not make much sense as to why a 24-year old Alex DeBrincat did not fit in the plans, and questions Kyle Davidsons rebuild outline.
A 24 year old DeBrincat did not fit into the rebuild plans, than Davidson proceeded to sign multiple players above the age of 24. It may seem like a blur to some, but as expected, the Blackhawks signings including Max Domi seem to only be rentals and traded away at the NHL trade deadline towards the end of this upcoming season, making it one of Kyle Davidsons first smart moves.
Now, what about Kane and Toews? The two are soaking up $10.5 million dollars EACH for one more season, and trade rumours have developed all over. Today, Sept 16th 2022, Kyle Davidson addressed the media, about Kane and Toews's trade rumours.
Davidsons press conference videos, and statements regarding Kane and Toews's future in Chicago can be found here:
Davidson confirms if trade rumours are true of false:
This is great news if you cheer for Chicago, as it seems Kane and Toews are on board for this season, and it also shut down all the false reports.
