The Dallas Stars organization announced on Thursday that they came to an agreement on a contract extension with one of their most crucial pieces.

Goaltender Jake Oettinger and Stars GM Jim Nill came to terms on a three-year contract extension for the team's number-one goaltender. The contract will see Oettinger making an AAV (Average Annual Value) of four million dollars - so the deal is three-years, $12-million dollars.

The team announced the signing on their Instagram, titled: Otter is back. Without a doubt the Stars are ecstatic to have the six-foot-five-inch Lakeville, Minnesota., native secured for another three seasons.

The Dallas Stars number-one goaltender was drafted 26th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Many NHL fans have stated that the extension and term were both steals. Ideally the Stars likely wanted more term, but Otter wanted a bridge-deal, as a step-stone, prove it contract. Regardless the Stars and their goaltending sutuation remain rock-solid for the next three years, and likely many more.

Tune-in to the fast approaching season to see Oettinger, Hintz, Pavelski, Benn, Seguin, Heiskanen and the rest of the Stars' during the 2022-23 campaign.
