BREAKING - Shocking info revealed on Patrick Kane's offers from NHL teams
The Detroit Red Wings and Steve Yzerman were the winners of the Patrick Kane sweepstakes. Tuesday, the forward signed a one-year contract worth $2.75 million with the team.
Since June 1st, Kane had been rehabilitating from his hip resurfacing surgery and remained one of the most sought-after free agents. Kane was linked to multiple teams, including the Dallas Stars, Buffalo Sabres, and Carolina Hurricanes at various times.
Despite their offers, Kane turned them all down, and Pierre LeBrun of TSN detailed what other suitors were offering him.

«When it comes to Detroit, what stood out was [head coach] Derek Lalonde had a strong impact on Kane during their discussions. We've talked [also] about the connection with Alex DeBrincat and the strong start to the season the Red Wings had.
«The Red Wings also had the most cap space of any of the teams that were involved right up until the end.
«There's no timeline when Kane will play but it sounds like sometime next week we expect him to make his debut in Detroit.» Kane picked Detroit because he liked the vision and connection to Alex DeBrincat of head coach Derek Lalonde, LeBrun's colleague Chris Johnston explained.

Kane and DeBrincat were a great pair with the Hawks from 2017-18 to 2021-22. DeBrincat scored 41 goals twice and 32 goals in the 56-game season.
Kane sees the Red Wings as a contender, and with him, it's possible. He joined the Wings to reunite with an old teammate and because of their available cap space.
