Big Trade Brewing Between The Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers?
Trade talks have picked up surrounding one specific Montreal Canadiens player this off-season, that player is Christian Dvorak. The 26-year old center has yet to been paired with solid teammates on his wing, his first team was the Arizona Coyotes where he had a 37-point year despite how brutal the Coyotes performed, and he is coming off a 33-point year with the Montreal Canadiens, who finished dead last in the entire NHL this past season.
Reports have stated the Flyers have shown interest as they *might* (if things go bad) need a centerman to fill the role of Sean Couturier is his injury requires surgery, and a Canadiens reporter brought up this proposal below:
''If the Flyers offer a conditional 2023 second-round pick, which becomes a 2023 first-round pick (if they make the playoffs), that would make a tremendous amount of sense for both sides. If the Flyers miss the playoffs, it will be a high second round pick, if they make the playoffs, it will be a later first round pick. There could be a difference of about 15-20 picks."
To the Canadiens:
A conditional 2023 first-round pick from the Philadelphia Flyers*
To the Flyers:
Christian Dvorak
*Condition: if the Flyers miss the playoffs, the first round pick becomes a second round pick and Philadelphia must add a second round pick in 2024.
Would you accept?
Dvorak, 26, has 17 points in his last 20 games in 2021-2022. He earns $4.45 million a year through 2025.
