Blackhawks Legend hosts a Farewell Game next month.
Marian Hossa's hockey career was nothing short of fantastic. The former Blackhawks superstar was always a threat whenever he stepped onto the ice, regardless of which team he played for.
In his first season after being drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 1997 as the 12th overall pick in the first round, the NHL quickly recognized his greatness and the dynamic skill set he possessed.
After spending seven seasons with the Senators, Hossa moved on to the Atlanta Thrashers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Detroit Red Wings before finally landing with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2009. The Blackhawks became his final team, where he experienced the most success. During his tenure, Hossa played a vital role in helping the Hawks secure three Stanley Cups and was an integral part of their offensive strategy.
Fast forward to 2023, and it was recently announced that Marian Hossa will be honoured with a farewell game next month in August in Slovakia.
Several of his former Blackhawks teammates, including Patrick Sharp, Dustin Byfuglien, and Jonathan Toews, will join him on the ice. Fans attending the game will be treated to an NHL All-Star spectacle, as some of the players are still actively competing in the league.
Proceeds from the farewell game will be donated to Marian's foundation, adding a charitable aspect to the event.
