Joey Anderson was the marquee name that came over in the Toronto Maple Leafs - Blackhawks trade that sent former Hawks defenceman Jake McCabe along with forward Sam Lafferty to the Maple Leafs in exchange for Anderson and a bevy of draft picks.

During his time with the Maple Leafs, Anderson was underused and only called up rarely when an injury would happen or if the Maple Leafs were looking to make a change to their lineup. This prompted general manager Kyle Dubas to find him a new home as Anderson was trying to get into the lineup and was having no success.

Tonight the Icehogs we're playing the Iowa Wild in the first game of their first round of the post season where Anderson crushed his opponent with a big body check on open ice.

The 24-year-old right winger, finish the season playing 24 games for the Hawks, scored four goals with two assists for six points and it was a - 9.

He will get another chance next season to crack the lineup with the Hawks during training camp and with the Blackhawks currently in a major rebuilding phase it's highly likely that he will stay with the team full-time.
