The Chicago Blackhawks got Taylor Hall from the Boston Bruins this summer to bring some veteran leadership to the team, especially for young player Connor Bedard. But now, Hall's season is over due to a knee injury from a hit by Tampa Bay Lightning's Michael Eyssimont on November 9.
Taylor Hall will have surgery on his right knee and is expected to miss the rest of the Blackhawks' season. This injury has hit Bedard hard, and he shared his feelings about it, saying:
"It's heartbreaking. Such a good hockey player. Such a good person, and it means so much to your group."
Since joining the Blackhawks, Hall played ten games, scoring two goals with two assists. Coach Luke Richardson explained that the injury came from various minor injuries adding up during games and practices.
Without Hall and Corey Perry, as well as Andreas Athanasiou injured, the Blackhawks will face the Toronto Maple Leafs this afternoon at the United Center.
