The debut of Connor Bedard in Canada coincides with the first game that will be broadcast on Hockey Night In Canada that same night.

In the same way that the Blackhawks are in the midst of a rebuild, so are the Montreal Canadiens.

A smattering of boos for Connor Bedard during his first shift, and how Montreal is that? Visitors are only booed here when they're among the best in hockey.

They don't have Connor Bedard on their team, and their rookies do not have the same caliber as Bedard.

Does that mean he was warmly welcomed by some Habs supporters during practice? Absolutely! As the game unfolded, you would think that enthusiasm for his arrival would follow.

You're wrong! During his first shift against the Habs, Bedard was booed on the ice. After the time of Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin, Bedard will be the next face of the NHL.

Connor Bedard is being booed in Montreal. They don't boo nobodys.

So it seems, Montreal doesn't boo nobodies, just the next NHL superstar.
