It's safe to say that this season for the Chicago Blackhawks will be filled with blunders as the team continues to rebuild and reshape the roster. Fans can give rookies a chance and a pass for making mistakes as they continue to learn the new systems that their new head coach has instilled.

On the other hand, veterans should understand how the game is played, especially when they are being paid top dollar for their positions.
This was the case for Seth Jones when the Blackhawks were in Montreal last night to play the Canadiens.

The 29-year-old defenseman, who has been given a contract of a lifetime averaging $9.5 million per year for the next seven seasons, should not make these mistakes.

This game held a little more meaning against the Canadiens as Richardson was an assistant coach for a few years in Montreal. This is also the first game that Connor Bedard is featured on Hockey Night in Canada on a Saturday night, which puts the spotlight on him even more.

However, the Blackhawks spent most of the night playing catch-up, and they lost 3-2 against the Habs.
