The Chicago Blackhawks Should Take Notes on The Flyers Leadership Department
The Philadelphia Flyers main concern last season was identity, who were the Flyers? Did they really have a true leader on their roster? Are they going for a playoff push or are they trying to build for the future? It was all undecided, until Chuck Fletcher made one of his first good moves, signing John Tortorella as the teams new head coach.
Tortorella quickly addressed the identity issues and also the word on who will be the Flyers captain, and his words may have sparked a new piece of motivation for Flyers players.
Torts is right, he cannot name a captain until something is proved on the ice and now the Flyers are looking better then ever and are 2-0 on the season.
Scott Laughton is the only player to have a captaincy letter on his jersey and he is wearing the ''A''.
The Blackhawks should do similar, as they are now in a full rebuild and it is a clear state, give the players something to motivate them, and not hand out letters (captaincy) before seeing the team play.
