The NHL is witnessing a three-team trade sparked by Kirby Dach's major injury
Recently, the NHL trade market has been surprisingly quiet, but today it is gaining traction.
The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta reports that three teams are involved in this trade.
There seems to be movement for a trade involving Conor Garland. I'm told a third team might be in play (to retain some salary).
Talks with teams like the Preds, the Caps, the Jackets, and at least one other Eastern team are underway. The Canucks want this done as soon as possible, but salary is a significant factor. How creative can they get? - David Pagnotta According to NHL Inside Pagnotta, winger Conor Garland may be on the move, but nothing official has been announced.
One of the teams may retain a percentage of Garland's salary in the deal, and there may be three teams involved.
In the absence of Kirby Dach, the Canadiens will need to augment their lineup long-term.
If the team opts to retain salary, expect a pick or prospect to be added as compensation.
Stay tuned as the story develops!
