The Florida Panthers have two goaltenders and totally different places in their careers.
Sergei Bobrovsky is a two-time Vezina Trophy winner, while Spencer Knight is top-15 selection in the 2019 NHL Draft.
It's all but assured that Bobrovsky is the favourite to hold the starting goaltender role in 2022, but what might the Panthers do in 2023-24, when Knight has additional professional experience under his belt, and may be primed to take on a bigger role within the Panthers organization. Bob is also making more money than Alex Ovechkin, Andrei Vasilevskiy, Gaudreau, Rantanen, Tkachuk and the scary list goes on..
If Knight is ready to go full-time as the number one guy in 2023-24, but Bobrovsky's play forces the Panther's hand, what will the Panthers do?
Should they stick with the proven veteran in Bobrovsky, or look to the future and move forth with Knight, swinging a trade to acquire assets for Bobrovsky sending him to a team primed to win a Stanley Cup championship?
Keep your eyes and ears glued to the NHL to see how the situation transpires.
