Second female coach in the NHL is now officially confirmed
A former assistant coach of the Maryland Black Bears has officially joined an NHL organization.
35-year old coach Kim Weiss has made history, being another female to join an NHL organization as she has taken on the role within the Colorado Avalanche.
She has joined the teams' AHL organization, the Colorado Eagles, in a goaltender coaching role.
She has spent years coaching youth and girls hockey as a whole, and received a huge promotion to the NAHL where she coached the Maryland Black Bears.
Kim Weiss joins Jessica Campbell and Emily Engel-Natzke as female coaches within NHL organizations.
