The Chicago Blackhawks hit a real home run at the NHL Draft Lottery when they landed the third overall pick at the 2019 Draft. Of course the consensus 1-2 is Jack Hughes at #1 and Kaapo Kakko at #2 and it would take something absolutely drastic to happen for the Rangers or Devils to pass on the top two prospects. Many have said that the real draft starts at #3 because there's no consensus #3 overall pick. TSN's draft analyst Craig Button in his first mock draft had the Hawks selecting Russian forward Vasili Podkolzin who put on quite a show with 15 points in 8 games at this year's U18. However Button has changed his position and now predicts the Hawks selecting a defenseman at #3. Button now has the Hawks' selecting Vancouver Giants defenseman Bowen Byram of the WHL. The Canadian born defenseman is a great skater with an uptempo game. He had 71 points in 67 games for the Giants this past year which included 26 goals and had one assist in five games for Canada at the U18's. Do you think Byram would be a better pick than Podkolzin?
