The Chicago Blackhawks are in flux right now, as they have named Anders Sorensen interim Head Coach of the team. Today he will face off against the Winnipeg Jets, in what will be a fierce battle on the ice, as the team looks to improve upon their 8-16-2 record.

But if Sorensen isn't named to the full-time coaching gig, after finishing this season, who should be hired?

Could they pull from the era where the team was a dynasty and they won three Stanley Cups? A player who knows what it takes to win, and how to get there?

Why not Jonathan Toews? Why not a former Blackhawks Captain?

Toews was recently seen making a trip to India to find a way to improve his health with a continued battle against Long Covid, and Chronic Immune Response Syndrome.

«It's too long of a story to share all the details here, but it's been almost (five) years of searching for a way to heal the inflammatory and immune system issues that took me out of hockey,» Toews wrote in the post. «The wisdom of Ayurveda has taught me that everything I experience, I am responsible for. Not only did it teach me better diet choices specific to my body type, it has deepened my intuitive relationship with myself and the world around me.»

Should he find himself healthy, and confident enough to return to the ice maybe GM Kyle Davidson should find a spot for him, maybe as head coach or part of the Blackhawks coaching staff.

He could also be a huge help for Bedard's face-off game:

Over the course of Toews' career, his face-off percentage never dipped below 50 percent, in fact he averaged a 57.3 percent in the dot. Last year without Toews the Hawks relied heavily on Jason Dickinson to win draws. Dickinson finished the year at 50 percent with 618 face-off wins.

Toews's career speaks for itself, he's played 1,067 games in the NHL, scoring 883 points(372 G, 511 A). His playoff record is 137 GP, 119 points(45 G, 74 A), and of course, three Stanley Cups.

His pedigree under Coach Joel Quenneville cannot emphasized enough, wherever he lands next in the future of his hockey career he's sure to be successful
