He sets the scene when he was 19 years old fresh in the league and he went to a clothing store with his captain to which Alfredsson picked three shirts which one had a price tag of $600.
Having little to no NHL money at the time, Foligno laughed and told the podcast that he had no money at the time and just loved the fact this is what the NHL was about.
He goes on to explain his admiration towards his former captain and felt that he is the best captain he's ever played with in his career thus far. Foligno played five seasons for the Senators before heading to the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2012.
General manager Kyle Davidson along with the coaching staff of Luke Richardson hope that Foligno can continue to build off his season last year where he played 74 games, scoring 17 goals with 20 assists for 37 points and had 57 penalty minutes.
The organization has made several changes and strides over the past couple of months and have decided to spend the bulk of their cap space which has augmented the team and given Foligno better players to play with.
It's likely the Blackhawks will see a better return from Foligno as he has two years remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $4.5 million per season.
