Jeremy Roenick comes forward with story on Craig Berube stalking him for several years in the NHL
Former Chicago Blackhawk Jeremy Roenick recalls a historic story involving a sucker punching incident with now-Leafs head coach Craig Berube
Jeremy Roenick recently took part on a podcast involving the Toronto Maple Leafs organization named 'Leafs Morning Take' and he delivered a historic quote on a former situation involving now Toronto Maple Leafs head coach, Craig Berube.
Roenick stated that Craig Berube waited five years to get payback after Roenick sucker punched him.
"We had a big melle 5-on-5 against Philly and the referee had Berube in his arms, I mean literally locked up and I'm free. And there's chaos everywhere and I'm like, you know, the Devil saying hit him and the Angels saying, no, don't do it... It's going to come back to haunt you well.
Of course, I listen to the Devil, bang and I cold cock him. He chased me around for five years. And he says now he's going to get me."
Roenick stated that five years after the sucker punch was laid, Berube still sought after revenge, and it's reasonable as the Roenick sucker punch video was quite grueling.
Roenick revealed how Berube would 'stalk' him on the ice:
"He (Berube) comes in and says what's up everybody, what's up? And I'm like, hey what's up chief? And he says, hey Jer, what's up, puts his hand on my shoulder. How you doing, Jer? Bang! And he hits me with a quick little shot right in the mouth. He goes I told you I'd get you."
Although the podcast was mainly focused on Roenick's time in Toronto, Chicago Blackhawks fans can still appreciate his historic stories as seen on the full podcast below:
