NHL's hottest goal scorer Alex Ovechkin suffers gruesome injury during off-season game in Russia
This past week there was a a 'Match of the Year' which is a well-known event for Russian hockey fans, where some of the best Russian NHL players face off against the best KHL faces.
Artemi Panarin even took part:
"But now Alexander has decided to take care of himself so that he can begin full training in 10 days."
At the age of 38, it's important for Ovechkin to value the career he is experiencing in the NHL as well as chasing down Wayne Gretzky's goal record- playing in a non-competitive game, for fun, in Russia may not be the greatest idea.
