A Huge Debate in The Hockey World is Currently Taking Place..
A big debate is taking place after the Instagram account by the name of Puck Empire posted the question:
' Will we see Cale Makar reach that some day? Has he already?''
The post stated the following:
Erik Karlsson's prime didn't last long due to injuries, but when he was at his best he was regarded as
one of the top players in the league, some even had him above Sidney Crosby & Connor McDavid as the #1 guy, and he was on his way to becoming a top-5 defenseman in history.
Some of the comments were surely intersting, let's take a look into their stats.
Erik Karlsson's prime took place with the Ottawa Senators, he had 3 seasons where he put up 20 goals along with a 78, 82 and 74 point performance. He broke out in his third NHL season, with 78 points.
Makar is currently in his prime at twenty-three years of age and shows zero signs of slowing down anytime soon, he is coming off his best NHL seasons which is his third year (exactly like Erik Karlsson) and has put up more points than Karlsson ever has within his twelve years around the league.
Of course points, goals and assists do not mean everything, but who would you rather Karlsson OR Makar??
