Alex DeBrincat makes a major change
The Ottawa Senators recently traded Alex DeBrincat to his hometown team, the Detroit Red Wings.
In the trade, the Red Wings acquired DeBrincat, a skilled 40-goal scorer, in exchange for Dominik Kubalik, Donovan Sebrango, a conditional 1st-round pick, and a 4th-round pick in 2024.
Upon joining his new team, DeBrincat changed his jersey number from #12 to #93, previously worn by Johan Franzen.
It is hoped that DeBrincat can bring the same clutch play that Franzen was known for before his career was cut short by concussions.
Meanwhile, Jeff Jackson recently became the CEO of Hockey Operations for the Edmonton Oilers and previously represented DeBrincat.
DeBrincat has switched agents to Dave Gagner, who also represents Connor McDavid.
Gagner, a former Red Wing and father of Sam Gagner, represents many star talents and prospects, including Jordan Kyrou, Quinton Byfield, Nick Suzuki, Aaron Ekblad, and newly-signed Oiler Connor Brown.
