Jonathan Toews's time with the Chicago Blackhawks may be coming to an end in a few weeks at the trade deadline. While Toews controls his own destiny in the final year of his contract, we now have an idea of what the Blackhawks may seek in return for Toews.
Elliot Friedman on the Jeff Marek Show mentioned Jonathan Toews's trade value. He went on to state that he believes the Blackhawks would most likely receive a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Toews.
While that may not seem like a lot to most fans, Friedman's report is stating what other teams believe they will have to give up in a return for Toews. There are a few other forwards on the market that will go first, such as Timo Meier, Bo Horvat, and Patrick Kane if he decides to move as well. The hypothetical return for Toews could be higher depending on his play over the next few weeks and the returns the Sharks receive for Meier or the Canucks receive for Horvat.
