Let me break it down for you. Alex Stalock and Petr Mrazek have many injury problems, Jaxson Stauber is being called up and sent down nearly every day, and Arvid Soderblom was sent down to Rockford a couple of months ago.
Alex Stalock is 35 years old. It's weird, but he was having at breakout season at his age before getting ran into by Casey Cizikas and suffering a concussion. He recently came back, but is out again due to his concussion like symptoms returning and is out again. Alex has a 2.70 GAA and a .918 SV%. Pretty good season, and he's never really had a bad one. Stalock is arguably one of the best Hawks on the team. Petr Mrazek is 30 years old. Mrazek has been struggling a lot this season, he can't keep the puck out of the net. Mrazek has a 4.17 GAA and a .877 SV%. Petr has been out this year twice with a groin injury, and fans wonder if he will get injured for the third time this year.
Both Jaxson Stauber and Arvid Soderblom are 23 years old. The two have them have been on the Blackhawks, but only Soderblom has been put in between the pipes. Jaxson has been flipped around a lot, switching between Chicago and the Icehogs nearly every day. Jaxson may have found a new home in the Windy City, as Stalock is out. Stauber has a 3.06 GAA and a .896 SV%. Arvid Soderblom was decent in his time with the Blackhawks. He had a 3.95 GAA with a .894 SV%. Arvid was sent back down to the Rockford Icehogs when Petr Mrazek came back from his second groin injury and has stayed down there ever since. Soderblom has a 4.17 GAA and a .862 SV% in five games down in the AHL.
The Chicago Blackhawks have been really scraping the bottom of the well with goalies, and it looks like it will be that way until Drew Commesso is ready to take action in the big leagues.
