One thing that has happened throughout the past year is a lot of eye injuries surrounding NHL players and goaltenders, Darcy Kuemper, the Colorado Avalanche Cup Winning goaltender last season took a stick between his goalie mask and was unable to see out of his eye for quite some time. This is something quite surprising as you would figure a goaltenders helmet would be safe enough and regulated to not let something like that happen..

Kuemper did end up fully recovering but was left with strained vision for a while. Now, fast forwarding one year and we have our third eye injury of the season coming from the Chicago Blackhawks while they faced off against the Nashville Predators last night.

Defensemen Jake McCabe was a victim of a Predators lazy stick awareness and took a stick blade to the eye, which raised a lot of concern as it lead to his eye bleeding on the ice.

The Blackhawks released an injury update after the game and it appears he ''should'' be good in two days, for the Blackhawks' game on Friday. He did need a few stitches, and also underwent some eye tests.

Jake McCabe needed a few stitches and underwent some tests on his eye, just to be safe. Richardson said he should be good to go for Friday.
