Chicago Blackhawks Acquire a Big Bad Enforcer to Protect Connor Bedard - A Move That Needs to be made
As a result of the Blue Jackets' excess of defensemen, speculation is rife that they are moving on from one of them.
One of them is
Erik Gudbranson, who should be considered by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Gudbranson would help add depth to an inexperienced blue line, in addition to
Jarred Tinordi's heavy game.
Gudbranson, Foligno, and Tinordi would be great teammates who could protect the rookies and create space for the offense.
Furthermore, Davidson could use Gudbranson's contract as a cap dump even though he is in clear decline as a player.
If they can get a sweetener for Gudbranson, they may be able to take the contract with an unsightly $4 million cap hit.
In order to build a rebuilding team, picks and prospects are crucial, and Davidson can always retain a third team if he wants to eat less cap space.
